Sights and Scenes of Moscow

After a bit of difficulty obtaining our Russian visas, one trip to Moscow’s Red Square proved the lengthy process was more than worth it. We opted to stay nearby (which we highly recommend) where we were only steps from the Bolshoi Theatre, The Kremlin, the famous GUM Mall, and, of course, the very impressive St. Basil’s Cathedral.

If you’re around on a Saturday, head to the Bridge of Kisses (or the Potseluev in Russian) where you will see numerous brides and grooms tending to a tradition of attaching padlocks to the bridge.

Despite intimidating ticket lines that seem to have no order, the Kremlin is not to be missed. If you have time and if you find it interesting, you can also visit Lenin’s embalmed body at certain hours, but be prepared for a one to two hour wait. Though short, we found that our three days in the city was the perfect amount of time for us to get our Moscow fix!

Love this feature — it brought back such memories! There’s a little coffee and ice cream shop at the entrance to GUM on the Red Square side (of GUM) that I practically lived in. Also y’all are lucky to have seen Lenin’s tomb – it just reopened been after a half year of renovations.
