Lanzarote and the Southern Islands of Spain

When my girlfriend was gifted with a trip to Lanzarote for graduation, we jumped at the opportunity to travel with a few friends to explore the amazing landscape, beautiful beaches, and incredible food that the island had to offer. We were looking for a relaxing getaway and that was just exactly what we found.

Not to be missed while on Lanzarote is the quaint town of Teguise. The outdoor market is a spectacular treat and a meal at Cantina Teguise will not disappoint. While there one can taste “El Grifo” and “Volcano”, both perfected by the island’s famous winds.

While on the island we stayed at Los Tulipanes apartment at Puerto del Carmen and made good use of our rental car to explore every last inch of Lanzarote. Many of the main attractions are focused on the volcano and resulting national part, Timanfaya. But it was Graciosa Island that truly captured our hearts. This tiny island off the coast of Lanzarote offers bike rentals and picturesque views of the blue sea and Gold Beach.
