Cape Town’s Neighbourgoods Market

The Neighbourgoods Market is a weekly gourmet food and produce market taking place every Saturday morning at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock, Cape Town. Founded in 2006, the market is an independent initiative based on the principles of buying directly from the source, knowing where your food comes from, and supporting local suppliers. It’s aimed with the intention of reviving the sense of community associated with farmer’s markets.

The variety of food available is astounding and is absolutely a food lover’s paradise! Everything is freshly made (and delicious!) and the suppliers are all incredibly passionate about their produce. The only problem is that, because the market is so very, very popular, you must arrive early if you’d like enough time to see and taste everything available. By midday most stalls are nearly sold out and the crowds make it impossible to move. Make it to Neighbourgoods before 10am for an absolute treat!
